Popsicles are for sharing (photo)

Popsicles are a great summer treat. Even if you dropped your popsicle in the grass and it's covered with dirt it still tastes YUMMY! And popsicles are a great treat to share. Even if your brother scarfs down his popsicle, you and your sister can still share yours with him because that is the nice thing to do. Plus Mommy has about eleventeen more in the freezer.

Bandit

Mommy has an important talk with me

Scout and Bailey. Scout likes to play basketball. Bailey likes to kiss Scout.
This week when Mommy tucked me into bed, she snuggled up with me and said she had something important to talk to me about.

She said that Scout is very sick and he is probably not going to get better. She said that maybe by the end of the summer, Scout will go to heaven to live with God.

Mommy says that heaven is a good place for a sick dog to go. All the sicknesses are gone. There is lots of room to run around and lots of stinky stuff to roll around in and lots of ponds to swim in. And at the end of the day, all of the dogs get to sleep in bed with Jesus. And he doesn't even care if they get their muddy paws on his sheets!

Mommy says that Scout is feeling a little cranky and that he can't play as much as he used to. So I am not supposed to try wrestlemania with him. And she said that maybe I could help Bailey not pester Scout so much either. Sometimes Scout feels like his normal Scout self and can romp and chase bubbles and play. But sometimes he just wants to sleep behind Daddy's recliner and be left alone.

Mommy cried when she told me this important stuff. I didn't know what to do, because I am not the take care of crying Mommy dog. That is Scout's job. He loves up Mommy and kisses her tears. My job is to run to you and give you a kiss when you sneeze.

I feel sad that Scout is sick. He is the best big brother a dog could have. And he teaches me and Bailey important stuff all the time. I don't know what we will do if Scout goes to heaven to live with God. But Mommy says that someday we will get to see him again when we go to heaven to live with God. So I guess that's good. I just hope Scout's sickness isn't that bad and he surprises everyone and stays with us for about fortyleven hundred more years.

Scout is sick

This is me and my brother Scout. He's the best big brother in the world.
Today is a bad day because Scout is sick.

He has had belly ache problems for always, but lately he has had lots more problems. Dr Hawkins did some experiments on Scout's blood and then on Saturday Scout had to go to the dog hospital and have pictures taken of his guts. The doctors think Scout has something icky growing in his insides that is not supposed to be there.

Today, Mommy had to take Scout to see another doctor. He is going to stick needles into the icky stuff and suck some out so he can send it to the dog scientists to do experiments and see if it is really bad stuff or not so bad stuff.

We are all hoping it is not so bad stuff.

Mommy was crying when she came home but she said we should not worry until there it something to worry about. I will tell you what the dog scientists find out.

We have grass!!

Guess what? We have grass in our yard!! YAY!! Yesterday, Grandpa Art came and helped Mommy do all the new dirt. And then he helped Mommy get started laying down the new grass. It's the prettiest, squishiest grass in the world. And it is magic grass. We didn't even have to wait for it to grow. Mommy just rolled it out like a carpet. A carpet you can potty on.

You can see lots more pictures on Mommy's blog. But here are a couple for you to see:

This is me helping Grandpa Art. Even though he said he didn't want my help.

Boo. Just a dirt backyard.

Yay!! Lots of grass!

Bandit gets a compliment from a stranger

Mommy took me for a walk today, just her and me. While we were waiting at the curb to cross the road and I was sitting nicely until Mommy said "Cross", a lady in a car slowed down and said out her window, "You have an incredibly well behaved dog. I mean, he is really well trained."

That is grown up people talk for "Good boy!"

Mommy said that I have my moments. And that I should try to have them more often.
