Waiting for Santa (pictures)

Me taking a turn waiting for Santa.
Scout waiting for Santa.

Remember I said that Scout was waiting for Santa? Well, I decided to help him. We are going to wait under the tree until he comes! Scout sleeps there for a while, and then I'll sleep there for a while, and then he will and I will. Bailey didn't take a turn yet because she just eats the tree.

Me and Mommy go get a Christmas tree

Scout is checking out the tree I picked out while I sing him a song about Christmas.
Every year Daddy gets cranky when Mommy wants to get a Christmas tree, even though he says he doesn't. So this year Mommy said, "It's OK, we don't need to get a tree" before he got cranky. And he was happy.

But we weren't! We have been having some blechy times and Christmas has been b-o-r-i-n-g!! so far. So tonight, Mommy said, "Get in the car, Bandit. Me and you are going on an adventure!"

Yay! Adventure!

First we went to Wegmans to cash in the lottery tickets Grandma sent for me and Bailey to go to puppy school. Thanks Grandma!! We don't need puppy school anyway. Then me and Mommy went to Mr. Swaglers to get a tree!!

Yay! Scout says I picked a good tree!

You should know that every year our whole family goes and gets a tree and we take pictures and it's a big event. But this year everyone is so cranky that me and Mommy just figured we'd do it ourselves. So we found a nice little tree we could buy with the money from the lottery tickets.

And guess what? I got to see my half sister! Her name is Bella and her and me have the same dad from Kim's farm. I'm related to everyone, which we found out last year. Remember? You can read about it here if you forgot. And this one, too.

Me and Mommy brought the tree home and dragged it in the house and put it up and gave it a drink.  Then we let Bailey in to see the tree. She has never seen a Christmas tree before. She took a drink from the tree's water bowl and then tried to eat some branches.

First Bailey got a drink.

Then she tasted the tree. Blech!
Then Mommy put up the lights. Sparkly!

This is what the tree looks like if you spin around in circles really fast.

Usually there is a big to-do about the tree and it takes about eleventeen hours to pick it out and get it home and stand it up and by the time it's all done everyone is ready to take a nap. But me and Mommy took care of it in about half an hour. And no one was swearing or getting cranky. Me and Mommy are a good team

TA DA!!!! Merry Christmas!!!

Oh, and guess what? When we got home, it started to snow!

PS: Scout says he's going to sleep under the tree till Santa comes.

I like books & being alone with Mommy

This is me at the bookstore, being a good boy.

This weekend, me and Mommy and Scout had ourselves all to ourselves because Daddy went to a hunting party and Bailey went on a sleepover with her friends at the vet's office.

Yay! Mommy all to ourselves! Plus me and Scout could go anywhere in the house we wanted. That was good. Scout misses sleeping behind Daddy's chair.

Yesterday, Mommy took us to the park to romp for a little bit. Then me and her went to the bookstore. I like books but I didn't eat any of them because they were not our books to eat. And I didn't pee on anything either. Aren't you proud of me?

Me and Mommy played "Where's Mommy?" though. She made me sit and stay, and then she hid in the store somewhere and said, "Where's Mommy!" I ran around the store until I found her and then I jumped all over her.

Just so you know, you usually can't play games in the bookstore because it is not polite. But Mommy's writing friend Steve was working and there were no other people so we had the place to ourselves.

Anyway, Daddy and Bailey are home, which means us dogs have to be locked up in our jail parts of the house. But because Daddy is home Bailey won't bark so much.

Oh, and guess what? Daddy shot a deer yesterday! So now we can have dog jerky. Yay for Daddy!

This is not a giant deer but he looks big, doesn't he?
Daddy said it is not a very big deer and it is not going on the wall. But we needed some deer and it walked by so blam. Daddy shot it. I like this picture, though. It makes the deer look like he is a giant Godzilla deer. It doesn't matter how big he is as long as there is enough to put in our tummies.

I check my email and find out we're big winners

I have been trying to help Mommy find some money to pay the bills this week. I found 37 cents, although there might be some more pennies in my belly.

But guess what! Our problems are solved! I checked my email today and found messages that we have won a lottery from the Netherlands and a BMW car from Germany and that rich relatives from Madrid, Spain AND Hong Kong have died and left us bunches of money.

Isn't that great? I guess I can stop eating pennies and trying to poop out dollars.

Bad teacher tells kids there is no Santa!

Of course there is a Santa, silly. He's right there in this picture!

A not very nice teacher in New York told her students that there is no Santa Claus. Naughty teacher!

The kids were learning about geography and they told their teacher that the North Pole is where Santa lives. She told them there is no Santa and that their parents leave presents under the tree.

That is NOT true. There is a Santa. I met him. We're pals. Me and Scout both had our pictures taken with him.

See, even Scout met him. And Scout would not lie.
You can even call Santa on the telephone sometimes and talk to him. It's in the newspaper so it must be true.

That teacher will probably get some coal in her stocking this year. It is very sad when the kids know more about geography than the teacher does.

PS: Sometimes your parents do leave presents under the tree, too. But they are the presents like socks, or leashes and collars. The toys and good stuff are always from Santa.

Santa's reindeer get the OK from their doctor to fly on Christmas!!

This is Dr. Rene Carlson and Prancer. She said the reindeer are A-OK to fly on Christmas!
Yay!! Santa's reindeer had their check up yesterday from their doctor and they are ready to fly on Christmas eve!!

Their doctor is not Dr. Hawkins or Dr. B or Dr. Herrema, who are our doctors. They are too busy here taking care of us dogs. Plus, it would have been a little crazy if Santa brought 9 reindeer into the office. I don't think Dr. Hawkins has enough biscuts for that many animals! So the big president of the animal doctors went to the North Pole to check out Ruldolph and his pals.

Her name is Dr. Rene Carlson and she had to make sure the reindeer's flying stuff was ready and that they didn't have any reindeer diseases that they could bring to other people's pets.

They are healthy! No worms or emergency poops or coughs or sniffles or anything. They even got their report card, just like when we go to the vet!

So hurry up Santa and get that sleigh filled! Scout isn't feeling very good and I want to make sure he gets his presents before he gets too sick to enjoy them.

Love,
BANDIT!!!
