Pictures of Bandit and Scout and Bailey

Hi, everyone! It's been a week since our for a while sister Bailey came to stay with us. She's fitting in just fine. Mommy says me and her are like two peas in a pod because we like to do the same stuff. Beg for food. Bark when Mommy doesn't pay attention to us. Nap on the couch. She says Bailey is a PITA puppy, too! (PITA means Pain In The Place Where You Sit Down.)

Me and Bailey helped Mommy in the kitchen the other day. Mommy was making a chicken, and she put the whole chicken on a cutting board so it could take a rest before she chopped it all apart. Mr. Chicken drained a lot of juice and it dripped down the side of the stove. So me and Bailey sat and licked it all up. When Mommy found us, both of us puppies had our whole entire heads covered in chicken juice. We were greasy and stinky, but we had a great snack.

Anyway, here are some pictures of us!

Me and Bailey nap on the couch. Scout doesn't like to nap with us.

Bailey's not a bad dog, for a girl.

Bailey sings The Jailhouse Blues

Bailey does not like being in her crate. She made up a sad song about it, called The Jailhouse Blues.

She was only in the crate while Mommy was brushing her teeth and putting on her jammies!

I hope Bailey's new family knows that she's a loud singer.

Bandit

Me and Scout get a new sister

Cassie and Bailey

So me and Scout got a new sister this week. She's not a forever sister. She's a for a little while until she finds a family sister.

Her name is Bailey but me and Scout call her Go Away. That's because she wants to be with us all the time!

Me and Bailey snuggle on the couch

Bailey's mommy dropped her and her sister off at the animal shelter because the family didn't want the puppies any more. That's not very nice. Bailey and her sister are only six weeks old. Me and Scout didn't leave our mommies until we were 15 weeks old.

The shelter said because Bailey and her sister are pit bull puppies they would have to take a long sleep, and no one wanted that to happen. So a lady who was visiting there took one puppy home and Mommy brought home Bailey.

This is a very snuggly puppy

Mommy says that God has a special family that's waiting for Bailey, but they don't know they are supposed to have this puppy yet. So our job is to take good care of her and teach Bailey how to be a good dog so that when her family is ready for her, she's ready to be a good dog.

Look at how little Bailey is compared to Scout!

Mommy says Scout is doing a good job, but she knew he would. But she said that I am doing a good job, too. I haven't peed in the house or been bad or anything!

Mommy also says that we should have named the puppy Karma, because that's what I am getting. I think "karma" means "chew on Bandit's tail and bark and potty in the house and keep everyone up at night."

Anyway, Bailey is a cute puppy but me and Scout hope she finds her real family soon. Maybe you want a new dog? Let Mommy know!

How to get your own snack

I am learning how to be a dog that can take care of himself. This week I learned how to get my own snack. This is what you do.

Wait until Mommy opens the fridge to get out the milk for her tea. She doesn't close the fridge door because it only takes a second to pour the milk. When she turns away to fix her tea, you stick your nose in the fridge and sniff out something good. Then you open up the tupperware container and taste whatever you want!

Mommy doesn't like to find you with your nose in the leftovers. But if you're super quick, Mommy won't even know you snuck a snack until she goes to heat up the leftovers and finds noseprints in the gravy!

Make yourself a sparky dog!

Here is a new trick you can play with your Mommy!

Find a very fuzzy blanket. Roll around on it and then have your mommy rub the blankie all over you to make sure you catch all the static electrics in the room. Cover up with the blankie.

Then shut off all of the lights. When it's nice and dark, have your mommy do a TA DA!!! and pull the blankie off of you.

Your fur will be all sparky and you'll light up like a Christmas tree!!

You have to play the game in the nightime because you can't see the sparks in the daytime. But you can hear them crackle and watch your fur stand up and dance.

That is one game we play in the middle of the night at our house. Besides Mystery Barf I mean.

Bandit (aka Super Electro Dog!)

Lizards, hamsters and other gassy things

So last night I thought I was going to have some mystery barf but it turned out that I only had gas.

You should not be embarrassed about having gas! Everyone has to burp or fart sometimes.

Except hamsters. Did you know that hamsters can't burp or fart, so if their guts get all gassed up, they just explode? That will happen to people, too.

Grandma says her Aunt Martha never farted in her whole life. I'm pretty sure Aunt Martha was lying, because she couldn't have lived to be ninetyleven years old without farting at least once. Otherwise, she would have exploded. So I think she sneaked one out once in a while when no one was around.

Anyway, last night I woke Mommy up because I thought I was going to barf. I was sitting next to her leaning over her head and I was coughing and trying to throw up. She said, "Please don't throw up on my face, Bandit" and she got up and gave me a drink. Then we got back into bed and I sat next to her again and she rubbed my chest.

I like having my chest rubbed. It makes me feel very warm and fuzzy and relaxed and sleepy. And last night it made my tummy not want to throw up any more. So I sat nice and quiet and Mommy rubbed my chest nice and soft for a long time. And then all of the sudden there was a rumble in my tummy and out came a big BURRRP.

I felt a lot better after that. So Mommy kept rubbing my chest and I started to feel sleepy and then all at once my eyes closed and I just fell over. Zzzzzzzz

Mommy says that you can put a lizard into a trance by rubbing his belly like she rubs my chest. Sometimes people put lizards into trances and then they dress them up in funny clothes and take pictures of them. And the lizards are so relaxed they don't even know what is happening to them! Then they wake up later and realize that there are funny pictures of them posted on Facebook and there's nothing they can do about it.

Scout says that someday when Mommy rubs my chest and I get all tranced out, he and Murphy will dress me up in high heels and pearls and take pictures of me and put them on the internet.

I would really rather not have that happen to me. But last night I only had two choices. I could let Mommy rub my chest and get tranced and make a big burp come out but maybe have Scout and Murphy dress me up and take my picture. Or I could keep the burp in and have my guts explode.

So if you have a choice between getting tranced out like a lizard to have some gas come out, or letting all the gas stay in and having your guts explode, you should get tranced and relaxed. It might be embarrassing to have someone take funny pictures of you dressed up like a girl and show them to the world. Or it might be embarrasing to make a big burp or fart in public. But it's better than having your guts exploding all over the place.

Love

Bandit learns a new trick

Happy New Year! Guess what? I learned a new trick!

It's called "This is going on your nose." This is how it works.

Mommy makes me sit very still, like a statue. Then she says, "This is going on your nose" and puts a treat on my nose and says, "Wait." And I have to sit very still until she says "OK".

I'm very good at this trick.

I can balance Rice Chex and pretzels and biscuits and even spaghetti noodles. Scout is OK at the trick but he won't sit still. Once Mommy puts the treat on his nose, he eats it.

But I wait until Mommy says, "OK!" Then sometimes I just put my head down and the treat falls off and I eat it. Sometimes I flip my head back and the treat goes flying. That is very funny when I have spaghetti noodles on my nose. Once I even flipped the treat and caught it in my mouth!

I'll bet you are surprised, aren't you? You thought I would eat up that treat on my nose right away! See, I am learning how to be a good boy.

Love,
BANDIT
