My surprise adventure weekend (and I am a very, very bad dog)

"Are we there yet?"

I had a big adventure this weekend with Mommy and my Aunt Jackie. It was a surprise. We went to Pennsylvania to visit Grandpa for dinner because he is having a fiftyleventeen birthday next week.

Just in case you didn't know, Aunt Jackie is allergic to everything in the whole world. Even herself. But she has new allergy medicine and she feels grrrreat! So she said I could sleep in the hotel room with her.  But first I had to get a bath. Boo.

I love Aunt Jackie so I got a bath before our adventure.

Me and Mommy drove our dogmobile from Rochester and Aunt Jackie drove her not-dogmobile from her house and we met at a hotel called the Days Inn.

You should know that driving is boring. It is a lot of stuff passing you out the window and rain making noise on your roof and Mommy singing stupid songs. But you get snacks!

I am not smiling because it is boring to drive all that way.

So this is what we did when we got to Pennsylvania. First, Mommy and Aunt Jackie brought in their stuff. Then they got ready to go meet Grandpa and Carol for dinner. I was supposed to stay in the room, but when Mommy left I started barking and barking before she even closed the door. So Mommy said, "I can't leave him here." So she took me with her!

They went to a Barbie Q place and I waited in the car like a good boy. I didn't bark or anything. I just sat in the car and looked out the window and said to Mommy in my mind, Hurry up, Mommy. Hurry up, Mommy.

Then we went to Grandpa and Carol's house for a little while. You should know that when you go to visit your dad and take him out to dinner it makes him very, very happy. So happy that if you also bring your dog and your dog chases his cats, he won't even care!

This is Grandpa. This is also Carol's foot.

Then we went back to the hotel. Staying in a hotel is fun. You can jump on the beds (only if you have sheets over the bedspreads to keep off paw prints) and have breakfast in bed and stay up late and watch TV. It's a great, snuggly time.

When you stay in a hotel, you get breakfast in bed!

It's fun to snuggle in bed and watch cable TV.

Anyway, I did not poop at all on Saturday, so me and Mommy did a lot of walking around the hotel and the neighborhood behind the hotel. I didn't find anyplace good to poop even though we tried a lot of places. But in the morning I really had to go, so I pooped in the hotel garden. When you really have to potty you can't be picky.

You should know that Mommy picked up the poop because that is what good mommies do. You are not allowed to poop and leave it in the garden.

When Mommy and Aunt Jackie went to breakfast with Grandpa, they left me in the hotel room because they were just at the restaurant next door. Mommy gave me a Kong with peanut butter and I got up on the bed and laid down like a good boy. She closed the door and listened for me to bark (I didn't) and then went to have eggs and bacon.

Except I was only a good dog for about twelve seconds. Then I was a bad, bad dog. I barked and barked and tried to open the door and I found a leash and chewed it up and when I was done with that I chewed up the door.

That is not an April Fools.

Yup. I was a bad dog. I'm sorry!!

Even though I didn't get arrested, I guess it is a big deal when you are a dog and you chew up a hotel door. So Mommy told the front desk lady and the front desk lady called her boss and they told Mommy they would call her today to tell her how many eleventeen hundred dollars it would cost to fix my badness.

I think Mommy wasn't having a good time any more. She was worried it would cost so much to fix that she would have to sell the cat to pay for it.

Aunt Jackie told Mommy that at least she had something to write about now, and Mommy said, "Oh well, there's nothing I can do now except pay for it." But I heard Mommy and Aunt Jackie talking about going to Reptileland to see the alligators and snakes, and I was worried Mommy was going to leave me there because I had been so bad.

But they decided to see the creepy crawlers the next time we had an adventure. Yay, I was not going to be lunch for an alligator! So we drove home.

It rained and snowed and I was not happy in the car and going home was not much more fun that driving there.

This is what it looked like out my window the whole way there and the whole way home. Boring.

But guess what happened today? When the nice front desk lady called she said it would cost zero dollars to fix my badness. Zero means no dollars! She said that there are a lot of dogs who do way badder stuff than what I did and they just leave and don't even tell anyone. She said the hotel fixer guy could take care of my badness pretty easy. That made Mommy cry.

So we had a fun dinner with Grandpa and Carol and got to watch TV and eat snacks in a hotel and be bad and not get arrested for it!

That is my surprise weekend. I think we should have another adventure weekend, except I should not stay alone in the hotel by myself again.

Why me and Mommy should win the“Eukanuba Paws In Motion to BarkWorld” contest

I think me and Mommy need another road trip adventure!

You should know that Mommy entered a contest to win a free trip to the blogging conference called BarkWorld. If Mommy wins the trip, she gets to fly on an airplane and stay in a fancy hotel and have some fun times with her pet blogging pals.

No fair! I want to go to BarkWorld. It sounds like lots of fun. Kind of like Disney World, except with barking.

I like to stay in hotels. I get my own bed!

Just in case you forgot, I am a good dog to take on a trip. Remember? Last year I went with Mommy to another writing conference. I was a good boy in the hotel. I didn't pee inside or chew up anything and I only barked when I had something really, really important to say. I didn’t eat any food off the buffet table or chase any kitties. Not even the cat wearing a dress. Plus, I got to go to a movie and have popcorn and everything!

All that food and I didn't eat any of it.
I know you don't believe me, but it is the truth!
Mommy says I can't go this time because this conference is far away and if she wins she will fly on an airplane. Just in case you didn’t know, they only let dogs on planes if they ride with the luggage. I am not a suitcase.

But guess what? Uncle Eric is a pilot who flies giant planes! Maybe I could ride up front with him. I am good at helping with maps and directions. And Uncle Eric never gets mad at anything, so even if I barfed on him while we were flying really fast, he would still love me.

I helped Mommy drive a dogmobile, so I could definitely help Uncle Eric drive a plane.
"OK, Mommy! That big truck is gone. You can back up now!"

I think Mommy should win a trip that pays for her hotel and gives her a dogmobile to drive so I can come, too. Our dogmobile is too grumbly to make it from New York to Georgia and we don’t have fortyleventeen thousand dollars to fix it. That way we can have a fun road trip and I can pee in a more than four states and visit all of our friends along the way and stay in a fancy hotel with my own bed and have a nice Mommy and Bandit vacation.

And my stupid sister Bailey can stay home with Daddy. Hahaha on you, Bailey!

Bailey can stay home with Daddy and breathe her poop breath in his face
while me and Mommy have another adventure.

I will let you know if the BarkWorld pals decide to let us win. I would be a good dog reporter, don’t you think?

Love,

Mommy is going to BarkWorld without me

Mommy is going to BarkWorld and there will be a doggy wedding. Barf.

Mommy told me today that she is going to a place called BarkWorld and I am not going.

Boo on that, Mommy.

Me and Mommy had lots of good fun when we went to BlogPaws so I don't know why I can't go to this adventure with her.

Mommy says she would lovelovelove to have me come. But she says I cannot ride in a plane unless they let me sit on a seat with her or ride up with the pilot. She says it is not good for a dog to ride with the suitcases because it is loud and scary and not a good dog environment. Whatever that means.

So I said, No problem! Let's take the dogmobile! But she said she can't afford eleventyseven thousand dollars to make sure the dogmobile will get us from Rochester to Georgia and back. So she is going to fly by herself on a plane to BarkWorld and share a room with Henrietta's mommy.

I have to stay home with my brother Scout and our stupid sister Bailey who poops in the house and howls at the fire trucks and fights with us until we bleed and hogs the bed and snores.

Mommy says that when she is at BarkWorld she is going to a doggy wedding where a dog named Stedman will marry a dog named Phoenix. Blech. They are probably going to kiss each other. Barf.

AND I found out that Mommy is going to a people wedding in November and I am not invited to that, either. There will probably be kissing there, too.

So boo on weddings and boo on trips without me and boo on having to stay home with my stupid sister.

It is a boo kind of day.

Love, your not happy pal,

The Pettie Awards are handed out at BlogPaws

While we were at BlogPaws, DogTime Media handed out the Pettie Awards. It was not the kind of awards show where you have to get dressed up in a tuxedo or fancy dress and high heels and sit at a table for four hours pretending like you are having fun. It was an on-the-TV kind of awards show you can watch at home in your jammies.

I didn't win anything. But our friend Carol did! Carol is Dexter's mommy. Yay for Carol!

Maybe someday I can win a Pettie award. That would be good because the winners get money to give to their favorite dog charity. I would give the money to Pitty Love Rescue, since that is who helped us take care of Bailey. Maybe if we give them enough money they will take her back.

HAHAHAHAHA!! I'm just kidding. I love Bailey. Which is good because I am stuck with her forever.

Pictures from our second day at BlogPaws 2011

Yesterday was our second day at BlogPaws. Here are some pictures!

Mommy, how many times are you going to
make me do this stupid trick?

BlogPaws breakfast! Table for one Papua Piig
the guinea pig and his buddy Decoy.

Ma'am? Are you going to eat that muffin?

Hey Bocci!! I found your mommy!!

I greeted everyone when they came to the first seminar.

And then I took a nap.

This is me and Dexter playing with his mommy Darlene.
Dexter had a super fun squeaky toy.

Excuse me, ma'am. Can I have another biscuit?

Hi, Robbi! Got any good treats in this bag?

Then at the next seminar, I took another nap. (Mommy says that you should know
that Holly's seminar was not boring. After lunch, I took another nap.
Just in case you didn't know, having fun makes you very tired.)

This is Edgar daKitty. He is Kelly's traveling kitty.
Kelly's regular live kitty stayed home.

This is Carol, Dexter's other mommy. Hi Carol!
It's lunch time. Where's Dexter?
(PS Mommy sent me to the romping room
while she ate. Boo. But I came back for dessert.)

They had cheesecake for dessert. I only had a lick. Or three.

Me and my pals John and Dusty. Corgis are fun!

At BlogPaws, there was a whole giant room filled with treats and stuff. You could go around to all of the tables and get goodies! It was kind of like a pet trick or treat.

Why yes, I would love to sample your dog food!

Hello sir. May I please have a whole bag full of my
favorite California Natural biscuits, please?

Sure, Mr. Toki Poki. I would love a treat!

Me and my Corgi pals!

Yes, ma'am. Your kitty is cute.
Maybe he would like a treat to share with me?

Me and Mommy are waiting in line to
see the movie "Spooky Buddies."

Yay! Movie night! Thank you for making
popcorn just for me, Vivian!

Can we go now and find a seat for the movie?

After the movie, all of the people got their pictures
taken with a cute puppy in a bunny costume.
Boo on cute puppies. I want my picture taken.

This is my new best buddy Rick. He loved me. I loved him too.
Maybe I should go visit him in Los Angeles so I
can tell his partner they need another dog.

So that was our second day at BlogPaws! I don't have picture of me eating Mommy's pizza or romping in the dog park room or other fun stuff. But we had some good times! And I met a lot of super duper people and their pets.

Our first night at BlogPaws

So here is what our first night at BlogPaws is like.

The first thing you have to do is check in. Hello, my name is Bandit! Can I have my name tag and a goodie bag, please? The BlogPaws lady was very nice and didn't mind that I knocked over all of her name tags.

When we got to our room, we opened our goodie bag and tested all of the treats and played with the toys right away.

There are a lot of people at BlogPaws. Some have their pets with them. Some don't. But a lot of them have treats.

This is Bean and her Mommy, Mel. Mel, do you have a treat?

Are you sure you don't have any treats in your purse?
Not all of the pets that are here are dogs. Do you know what this is?

It's a cat wearing a dress and a beret! How about these guys?

Ferrets! They are best buddies. They have to be if they travel snuggled up like that.

After we walked around the showroom and took some stuff off of tables, we got to eat. Just so you know, dogs are allowed in the dining room! Hahaha, I know what you're thinking. But guess what? I was very good! Well, except for almost at the end when I licked a bunch of stuff off of the buffet. But everyone was pretty much done by then. And only Mommy's friend Robbi saw me. Robbi did not bring her dog Henrietta. I hope she doesn't get  lonely. Maybe she could borrow a ferret!

Uh oh. This could be trouble!

Guess what? I didn't eat off the plates! Mommy let me taste some potatoes and I had a fortune cookie. This is what my fortune says:

Mommy says that would be very nice. Even if it was just for the next few days.

Anyway, we are back in our room. Guess what? I get my own bed! It's a big giant bed. And I have it all to myself!

But first Mommy and me will do some snuggling and then we will go out through the lobby in our jammies so I can potty one more time and then we will go to bed. Having an adventure makes you tired!

Good night!
Love BANDIT!!!!!!!

We got to Blogpaws 2011!

Me and Mommy get to BlogPaws!

Hey everybody! Guess what? We're here!!!

Me and Mommy got to Washington, DC a little while ago. So far we have gone out to the car about fortyleven times to bring stuff in, got ice, picked up our goodie bag, and checked out the dog sitter room. I pooped. Outside, of course. And I got some nice pets from a pretty and nice flight attendent from a country where women have to wear covers on their heads.

Guess what else? I peed in 4 states on this trip! New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.

I don't know yet if I like this kind of adventure. Riding in the car is BORING. But I was pretty tired since I didn't sleep at Grandpa's last night so I slept the whole way today.

Me and Mommy slept in the living room at Grandpa's. But I could hear a cat meowing all night but I couldn't find it. So I kept going upstairs and barking to wake Grandpa or Carol or Chris up. Hey, wake up! There's a cat stuck in the walls someplace!

Then we had a BIG GIANT HUGE thunderstorm. I was up at 1:30, 4:00, 4:30, 6:00 (I got up with Chris when he went to work because he made a hot dog for breakfast), 6:30, 7:00, and at 7:30 when Mommy said, OK, let's get up, I said, Nah, I'm going to sleep in a little bit.

Then Ashley and her kids came over for breakfast. It was crazy so I just ate some bacon. Then Mommy and me got on the road.

I can tell you more later - like how I ran away and romped in the woods and Carol said I maybe ran in poisoned ivy. But just so you know, I didn't pee on anything yet that I wasn't supposed to pee on. And I held that poop from Pennsylvania to Virginia!

Oh, and guess what else? If Mommy is on the first floor of the hotel, she can hear me barking our room. That's good to know in case I need her.

LOVE
BANDIT!!!
